QGIS is maturing as a desktop spatial data browser and soon we will be able to contemplate the addition of sophisticated analytical tools into the QGIS application. In keeping with the 'stand on the shoulders of giants' philosophy of Open Source we have been in discussions with the OSSIM developers and user community to evaluate the potential of integrating OSSIM into QGIS. There is already an existing OSSIM-Qt project and this makes a logical starting point for the integration effort.
